The Role:

We seek a Business Development Executive having a background in the Federal Civilian market to drive, penetrate and expand our AMD datacenter and commercial client sales in this market.  The successful applicant will be expected to develop new business, expand, and manage a qualified pipeline, represent AMD capabilities and value proposition with customers and industry partners, and work with our highly skilled field engineers to support strategic programs across our AMD portfolio of products - Epyc, Ryzen Pro and Radeon Instinct businesses.  Applicants must have a comprehensive understanding of current trends and emerging technologies in the Federal Civilian IT market. This is a highly visible position requiring a proven record of success in growing new business and expanding current engagements.

  • The candidate will define and execute the overall business development strategy and work with a cross functional team to drive the development growth of this business with AMD-based solutions in the Federal Civilian domain
  • Familiarity with Federal programs including planning, budget and execution processes, and acquisition strategies
  • A strong drive to “win,” combined with sound business perspective
  • High level of confidence, maturity, and integrity
  • Open communication style and presence to work optimally at all levels
  • Transparent and credible in dealings with internal/external customers, colleagues, and partners
  • Ability to listen to the customer and articulate the customer’s needs internally
  • Proven track record of strategy & planning, building on a strategic vision
  • Ability to work out of a home office, travel up to 50% (as required)

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement sales strategies that grow the revenue base and market share for the Federal civilian market
  • Creating and leading client-focused and client-facing activities, including setting up and attending key client and stakeholder meetings
  • Understand and utilize market trends, mission priorities, and customer goals to envision, shape, and close new opportunities
  • Successfully convert new target accounts, creating the foundation for long-term, value-based relationships
  • Define and size opportunities, identify and engage key customers and partners, including OEMs and system integrators
  • Serve as the AMD subject matter expert across our roadmaps & market positioning
  • Understand and utilize market trends, mission priorities, and customer goals to envision, shape, and assist in closing opportunities
  • Develop and maintain highly effective relationships with the Government executives, Program Managers, contract management offices and industry partners that drive business growth
  • Drive sales of AMD Ryzen and Ryzen Pro based commercial client PCs 
  • Drive Sales of AMD Epyc and Radeon Instinct based server and datacenter solutions 
  • Manage and update business via Salesforce CRM – on time and accurately
  • The candidate must possess strong leadership and organizational skills to cultivate, build and maintain customer relationships, internally and externally

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Proven experience in the Federal Civilian segment, direct selling/business development experience selling Datacenter and client solutions to the Federal Civilian market.
  • A wide and well-established network of relationships across the Federal Civilian client community that is based upon a track record of trust, contract wins, and valued results for the client
  • Experience engaging with C-level stakeholders at the business and technology level, using a consultative selling approach to maximize the customer's outcomes
  • Solid understanding of datacenter infrastructure server and storage solutions, software ecosystem, and workloads 
  • Solid knowledge of commercial PC client solutions and eco-systems 
  • Strong historical interaction and relationships with key customers and OEMs within the Federal Civilian segment
  • High energy and positive attitude
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Extraordinary, social, written and presentation skills
  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-growing, rapidly changing environment
  • Able to work independently and remotely from other members of your team and corporate

 

Academic Credentials:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent job experience
  • Must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
