***This role is onsite at Striking Distance Studios in San Ramon, CA. Relocation support will be provided***

What we are looking for:

Striking Distance Studios is looking for a Lead Gameplay Animator to help us create the most dynamic and engaging player and enemy experiences for a brand new, unannounced UE5 title. The Lead Gameplay Animator's main responsibilities are to plan, organize, supervise and inspire the work of his/her team. 

Responsibilities:

  • Create animations that blow our minds and inspire your team to do the same
  • Work with the Animation Director to align animation goals with Design expectations
  • Prototype and Previs new Gameplay Systems
  • Direct motion capture sessions
  • Interact with different departments to make sure Design, Sound and VFX goals are in alignment with Animation priorities
  • Define, prioritize, assign and regularly follow up on tasks and the advancement of the team’s work with regards to deliverables
  • Anticipate and recognize potential conflicts or production issues and recommend solutions
  • Motivate and develop the team members and act as a mentor in terms of technical/artistic aspects

Qualifications:

  • Amazing Animation Skills
  • Strong understanding of UE5 Blueprints
  • Experience & understanding in creating Locomotion and Combat systems
  • Strong leadership skills, time and priority management
  • Ability to create and develop productive teams
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

In California, the expected salary range for this position is $150,000-$185,000. The listed expected salary range represents a good faith estimate and the actual pay may depend on a variety of job-related factors that can include experience, education, skills, and location.
