CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Lead UX Designer to define the overall user experience — visual, interactive, and workflow design — of Project Sirius, an original video game combining beloved aspects of The Witcher world with immersive multiplayer gameplay.

This role’s primary focus is on ensuring an inclusive, intuitive, immersive, rewarding, and memorable experience. To achieve this requires working in a truly cross-departmental environment and constantly researching, observing, and iterating on the user’s experience in UI navigation, game flow, and moment-to-moment interactive clarity. The person in this role will report to the Design Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the design of layouts and interactive guidelines for user interfaces, game menus, and overall player experiences (UX/UI).
  • Create materials to demonstrate concepts through sketches, wireframes, mockups, etc.
  • Oversee the creation of UI screens and assets and coordinate with UI Artists and other departments to ensure project-wide needs are being met.
  • Design and prototype layouts, navigation schema, and general usability.
  • Define goals for, and participate in, playtests to refine UX from player feedback and behaviors.
  • Work closely with UX Researchers and translate user research, marketing and brand insights, and community feedback into player-oriented design.
  • Produce and maintain design documentation and work with Production to ensure they can be implemented with time and resources available.
  • Keep in constant communication with the team to solicit feedback and constantly hone your work.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a UX/UI Designer and 1 year as a Lead UX Designer.
  • Shipped at least one AAA title.
  • Extensive knowledge of current game titles and best practices to use as reference for crafting and communicating original ideas.
  • Ability to work independently to identify and own work and deliver complete results.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Creative Cloud) and collaboration tools (e.g. Miro).
  • In-depth knowledge of UI/UX best practices and information architecture.
  • Interest in implementing and iterating on UX features in Unreal Engine.
  • Very good communication and presentation skills.
  • Able to give and receive feedback that’s productive, constructive, and aims to improve the project and the team.
  • Curiosity, kindness, and a positive and professional can-do attitude.

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Experience as a UX Designer on a multiplayer game.
  • Experiencing mocking up prototypes and wireframes in Unreal Engine.
