The Role:
AMD’s Quality Team is looking for a skilled program manager to support operations planning and execution of customer returns testing . This position plays a multifunctional role in a small team, providing experience as a key contributor in a variety of aspects of the operation. This position will support our global operations through budget planning, material planning, procurement, and operational metrics. This role involves working with various AMD teams to gather inputs into planning and communicate plans to stakeholders. The position supports all newly released and upcoming AMD products.
The Person:
The ideal candidate is self-starting, motivated individual with excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills. The candidate should be comfortable conducting meetings, assigning tasks, and communicating with engineers on technical topics. Background in high tech, preferably computer test equipment, is ideal.
Responsibilities:
· Budget Planning
- Gather planning inputs from AMD teams (roadmaps, volume forecasts, Test Equipment bill of materials)
- Prepare budgets based on inputs for Test Hardware and Operation teams
- Present budget rollups to management
· Budget Tracking
- Track Hardware and Labor expense against budget
- Compare and approve labor invoices to expected spend
- Calculate and report program return on investment by tracking spend versus cost savings
· Test Equipment Procurement
- Capture hardware requirements for future platforms and work with Suppliers on order placement and timelines
- Identify sources of supply and work with vendors on getting needed hardware
- Ensure on time delivery of materials through sourcing and expediting of suppliers
- Resolve issues with shipping/receiving
Preferred Experience:
- Extensive experience in semi-conductor industry
- Working familiarity to computer systems, component hardware functionality and problem solving
- Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams
- Competency in productivity tools (for example: Confluence, JIRA)
- Ability to solve complex problems, work with ambiguity and self-motivated
- Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and oral
- Previous procurement experience is a definite plus
