THE ROLE:

Join AMD Ventures as an Associate in a high-impact, fast-paced environment that shapes AMD's strategic growth. This role is an exceptional opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technology startups and develop strong, strategic relationships between AMD and our portfolio companies. You’ll work closely with AMD’s senior leadership and team members across the company, offering key insights, driving processes, and supporting new investments. As part of a tight-knit team, you’ll have exposure to diverse projects, hone your market intelligence skills, and directly influence investment decisions within the semiconductor, software, AI, and data center sectors.

THE PERSON:

We’re seeking a proactive, strategic thinker with strong business acumen and a collaborative spirit. To thrive in this role, you should excel in a dynamic, ever-evolving environment, enjoy building relationships, and anticipate emerging technology trends. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and a results-driven mindset are essential for success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Portfolio Development: Build strong ties between AMD and its portfolio companies, engaging regularly with both AMD stakeholders and portfolio teams to drive impactful outcomes.
  • Process Management: Maintain and refine internal processes, including tracking KPIs, conducting executive report-outs, and supporting regular accounting processes.
  • Market Research and Intelligence: Conduct in-depth research to evaluate investment opportunities in strategic areas, preparing insightful market intelligence reports for AMD’s leadership.
  • Investment Support: Support investment due diligence for potential ventures, crafting investment cases, conducting financial analysis, and preparing comprehensive investment memos and presentations.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience in corporate VC, institutional VC, corporate development, or business development.
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Background in the tech industry or venture investments is advantageous.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM preferred.

At AMD, your base pay is one part of your total rewards package.  Your base pay will depend on where your skills, qualifications, experience, and location fit into the hiring range for the position. You may be eligible for incentives based upon your role such as either an annual bonus or sales incentive.
