As a Principal Technical UI Artist, you will be the go-to expert for technical challenges related to UI content creation. You will analyze and solve complex problems, provide technical expertise, and ensure the quality of production in this area of expertise. Your expertise will shape the project's UI technical direction while supporting and mentoring your colleagues.

What You'll Do

  • Identify technical needs in UI and provide recommendations to the team and technical leadership.
  • Collaborate with TDs and ADTs to define and share the vision for UI content creation, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Develop efficient pipelines and establish best practices to optimize UI performance, quality, and data management.
  • Design or recommend tools to enhance UI content creation and integration.
  • Mentor and support team members, particularly junior UI technical artists, in UI content creation and implementation.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in UI.
  • Write clear and accessible technical documentation on UI processes.
  • Work closely with programmers to guide the development of UI features.
  • Communicate regularly with TDs and stakeholders on UI tasks progress.
  • Contribute to performance evaluations for UI technical team members.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Several years of experience in technical art (preferably UI), with a strong understanding of all stages of game production (a plus).
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization abilities.
  • Proactive approach and ability to solve complex problems.
  • Adaptability and willingness to quickly learn new tools and optimization methods.
  • Ability to write clear and concise technical documentation.
  • User-focused mindset with an emphasis on ergonomics and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in modern UI creation tools and scripting.
  • Experience in UI shader development and optimization.
