AMD together we advance_
THE TEAM
AMD's Data Center GPU organization is transforming the industry with our AI based Graphic Processors. Our primary objective is to design exceptional products that drive the evolution of computing experiences, serving as the cornerstone for enterprise Data Centers, (AI) Artificial Intelligence, HPC and Embedded systems. If this resonates with you, come and joining our Data Center GPU organization where we are building amazing AI powered products with amazing people.
THE ROLE:
The AMD Data Center GPU Remote Management team is seeking a talented FPGA Development Engineer to develop out-of-band management FPGA solutions for our next generation of GPU products. The Platform Hardware Controller interacts with cutting-edge Data Center GPUs.
THE PERSON:
The successful applicant will collaborate closely with other FPGA and firmware developers, system architects, system validation engineers, and board designers across various IPs, leading the design and implementation of FPGA solutions that span both pre-silicon and post-silicon stages for AMD’s flagship Data Center products.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Implementation of complex logic digital design solutions that employ high-integrated SoC solutions with embedded processing, logic gates, high-speed interfaces and complex IP.
- Support the definition of FPGA architecture, requirements, and documentation.
- Translate high-level system requirements into FPGA requirements.
- Write production-quality Verilog to ensure the design meets or exceeds the project success metrics (quality, functionality, on-time completion).
- Develop strategies to test and verify stand-alone and integrated FPGA functionality.
- Learn, practice, and improve quality development processes and results.
- Create modular/reusable FPGA IP that can be reused in current and future designs.
- Support defect investigations and validate defect fixes found during testing, development, or in production code. Provide logs and statistics that will help in further triaging of defects.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Team player with strong communication skills and able to work in a dynamic environment.
- Must be a self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision and driving tasks to completion.
- Solid understanding of FPGA, firmware, and test development for embedded systems.
- Software Programming and scripting experience (Verilog, Python, bash, C/C++) in Linux operating systems.
- Able to read and interpret board schematics.
- Familiarity with various embedded protocols including but not limited to I2C, SPI, USB, PCIe, TCP/IP, etc.
- Familiarity with BMC Out of Band management of servers and its components in a data center environment.
- Knowledgeable in industry standard BMC protocols like IPMI FRU, MCTP, PLDM, Redfish, etc.
- Familiarity with microcontroller architecture (ARM) and embedded system build tool suites (build scripts, make, git, Visual Basic for Applications).
- Version control and CI/CD systems like git, Jenkins, etc.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor’s / Master’s degree (preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
