SENIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER – POST SILICON VALIDATION
THE ROLE:
AMD’s Strategic Silicon Solutions group is responsible for custom silicon solutions for advanced gaming platforms such as XBOX, PlayStation, Steam Deck. As a Post-Silicon Validation Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring our custom silicon products meet AMD’s quality standards and achieve production quality. To do this, you will interact with the architecture, software, customer, and other teams to develop a deep understanding of Software and Firmware feature requirements, develop testcases to validate the product meets specifications, and contribute to overall quality of deliverables.

- Advocate of quality, lean process and up to date with latest validation or testing trends.
- Worked in a multi-geo projects and teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support weekly / bi-weekly BIOS and Driver releases working with SWQA leads.
- Leverage prior experience to improve test coverage and quality of software / firmware components that implement AMD IPs – CPU, Graphics, Multimedia, Display, Security etc.
- Automation first mindset and goes beyond call of duty identify way to bring in lean way of execution without compromising quality.
- Managing internal and external stakeholders
- Develop technical relationships with peers
- Be accountable for software release testing on assigned programs.
- Collaborate with QA and/or post-silicon validation communities within AMD to share ideas, get up to date with testing trends and implement best practices.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Seasoned post-silicon validation engineer experienced in one or more domains - CPU, Graphics, Multimedia, Display, Security, NPU, and/or BIOS
- Experience post-silicon validation on different OS platforms like Windows, Linux,
- Knowledge of x86, ARM and RISC V Architecture
- Hardware board bring up and debugging.
- Test Automation and Programming (Python, Perl, etc.)
- Structured communication and presentation.
- Experience working in a fast paced matrixed and multi-site technical organization
- Experience working directly with external customers and partners
NICE TO HAVE EXPERIENCE:
- Continuous Integration and continuous delivery (Jenkins, Hudson, Azure etc.)
- Configuration management and tools (GitHub, Gerrit etc.)
- Applied/or leveraged AI / ML tools for improving execution efficiency and productivity improvements.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
