THE ROLE:

 

The Staff Financial Analyst is a high-visibility role within AMD's Finance organization, located in Austin, TX. This position is critical to the success of the Server Business Unit, providing essential financial support to drive corporate revenue and margin targets. Key responsibilities include owning the monthly operating forecast, weekly revenue attainment, and serving as a data steward for the organization. The role collaborates closely with business unit planners and leadership to build accurate forecasts and achieve strategic objectives.

The ideal candidate is action-oriented, highly collaborative, and comfortable working with large datasets in a fast-moving environment. This individual should possess strong leadership capabilities to drive cross-functional initiatives and influence business decisions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the monthly operating forecast, annual operating plan, and revenue attainment processes for the Server Business Organization.
  • Partner directly with business unit leadership to meet corporate revenue and margin goals.
  • Manage and maintain Server Business Unit financial data, creating reports to inform key updates for business leadership.
  • Perform financial analyses and provide decision-making support for strategic growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate with and provide operational finance guidance to cross-functional teams, including Business Unit Operations, Sales Operations, Accounting, and other Finance groups.
  • Drive gross margin initiatives, optimizing margin while maximizing revenue by challenging assumptions and identifying opportunities for improvement.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Progressive experience in finance, preferably in a global, fast-paced enviornment.
  • Self-starter with exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated financial leadership in a high-growth environment, effectively supporting business leaders.
  • Expertise in financial tools and programming, including advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.), SQL, Python, or other data-related programming languages.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent.
  • MBA or Master’s in Finance preferred.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of  multi-site high-tech environment.
