The opportunity
We are seeking a highly analytical and proactive Fraud Analyst and Operations manager to join our team. Our advertising and In-App Purchasing solutions and technologies are deployed in hundreds of thousands of apps used by hundreds of millions of users every day. This generates meaningful data sets that need to be mined for valuable insights to drive our fast-growing business and support our developer community.

In this vital role, you will manage and improve our fraud detection and prevention systems, including enhancements to our machine learning models and product solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong operational and analytical skills to monitor, detect, and mitigate fraudulent activities, while also leading cross-functional projects to improve operational efficiency around network safety. This role requires an understanding of the ad tech industry and its unique measurements, combined with the ability to think outside the box to develop and implement innovative solutions.

What you'll be doing

  • Fraud Detection and Prevention: Monitor and analyze data to detect and prevent fraudulent activities, maintaining the quality and integrity of Unity's ad network.
  • Support Business Teams: Support business teams with closing fraud tickets and answer fraud-related questions and queries.
  • Data-Driven Projects: Lead projects to enhance machine learning algorithms and product solutions for fraud detection.
  • Operational Efficiency: Improve company systems' efficiency and collaborate with cross-functional teams for process enhancements.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect, analyze, and automate large datasets, creating comprehensive reports and dashboards on fraud trends.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements in fraud detection processes, coordinating with partners and gathering requirements.
  • Innovation: Develop and implement new fraud detection methods and technologies.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with regulations, maintaining detailed documentation of strategies and outcomes.

What we're looking for

  • Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, and R.
  • Experience with data visualization and dashboard tools such as Looker and Tableau.
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and hands-on experience working on machine learning projects.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:
  • Strong analytical skills to detect and prevent fraudulent activities.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and automate large datasets.
  • Communication Skills:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts and analysis clearly to a wide audience.
  • Operational Skills:
  • Strong focus on improving efficiency and effectiveness in fraud operations.
  • Ad Tech Industry Knowledge:
  • Understanding of ad tech industry metrics, measurements, and common fraud vectors.
  • Project Management:
  • Experience leading data-driven projects and cross-functional collaboration for process enhancements.
