THE ROLE: 

As a Program Manager for the Strategic Silicon Solutions (S3) SOC team within AMD, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring that new product development program execution is successfully driven in line with the project(s) scope, schedule, and budget.

 

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the general silicon engineering process, from concept to tape-out to production.  A key component of this role involves working closely with AMD and third-party IP suppliers, an SOC team spread across the globe and the SOC architecture team to ensure continual forward progress is maintained, status reporting is timely and accurate, and key issues are driven with appropriate urgency. This is a cross-functional role that involves engagement across all engineering and business units to meet project objectives. This position offers deep exposure to industry leading CPUs, Graphics, GPU Compute, AI, Machine Learning, and related technologies.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Delivering on all assigned program commitments from inception through execution.
  • Delivering assigned program(s) within POR schedule, budget and scope.
  • Acting as a key liaison between IP and SOC execution teams on all matters pertaining to successful project execution.
  • Driving incorporation of initiatives and process improvements at the functional, cross-functional, and corporate level into assigned program(s).
  • Ownership of status reporting and issue messaging to key stakeholders, including senior executives and customers.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive program management or technical leadership experience.
  • Ability to scope a program end to end.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize, and juggle multiple work streams to tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end Silicon and/or systems development process.
  • Experience in managing complex, interrelated ASIC projects, programs, and functions; working knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines is highly desirable.

 

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

  • Bachelor's, Master, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or relevant fields.
